the sweetest escape

im in my final year of school, and its only been a week or two, and its already hell. but ive gotta get through it all, coz after i graduate year twelve, theresa, cassandra and i are off to europe for a well needed escape. ive wanted to go to england since i was about ten years old, and the realisation that by christmas this year i might be there, is beyond amazing. im so excited.

the mothership has promised that they'll pay for my ticket, as long as i finish my hsc (thats not a problem, i didnt waste a whole year of year eleven just to drop out), and i need to save at least $4000 by november. dads already given the a-okay on a credit card for emergencies only (like that corset coat in topshop i oh so drool about). its gonna be a problem saving, because i tend to go spend-happy at winter time, coz the clothes are so lovely, but this year im on a tight budget. no more movies, no more alcohol, no more splurges on expensive concert tickets (the last one is soundwave, i swear. $140 down the drain lol). i dont know how im going to manage to save all that money, but hopefully i can. and my sisters even said that if i havent saved enough by november, she'll lend me some (if i dont pay her back, she said she'll smash my teacups. oh my).

everyone else i know is going to schoolies after graduation, but personally, i think its a waste of time. why spend hundreds of dollars just to spend a week at the beach, having sex and getting drunk. i can do that in europe (if i wanted. only if it involves a gorgeous british guy, i mean.)

the itinerary so far is the UK, where we're adamant on spending a week in london, and a few days in cornwall. i cant wait to wander along portobello road spending all my hard earned $$$ on ridiculous bits and bobs, but they'll all be worth it. i also want my very own shots of those adorable coloured houses in notting hill. i want to buy a trenchcoat in topshop and wear it all day everyday that im there, plus a whole lot of underwear, coz topshop knickers are cheap. i cant wait to hop on the london eye and finally put my nikon to worthwhile use. and once we get sick of london (doubt it), we'll traipse down to sunny cornwall and take beautiful pictures on the beautiful hills. its absolutely gorgeous there. ive even found a lovely (and cheap) hotel where we can stay, which has its own private beach. Camelot castle, i believe its called.

after snapping photos worthy of deviantart (LOL), we'll probably shimmy on over to paris, france, where i plan on looking at the mona lisa for fifteen whole minutes, just coz i can. apparently it takes days to see the entire louvre, but the eiffel tower is much better than that anyway. i want to have a cup of coffeeand a croissant on the champs elysees, and i want to buy clothing a la vintage, just like edie did in diary of a crush. we'll probably only be in paris for two or three days, but im sure we'll be able to experience a lot in such a short time.

then we'll move on to italia, which is quite possibly on of the most beautiful historical countries in the entire world. we'll probably stay in rome, but i'd love to go to venice and florence. tuscany (which is where the italian exhange student is from) looks absolutely wonderful. but money is tight indeed, and im thinking that we'll just end up in the one place. but seeing the colosseum and la fontana di trevi, sounds just as pleasant as anything else.

oooh im so very excited. and the fact that im escaping the terribly hot summer for a terribly cold winter makes me sooo happy.
